Went to Post Office to collect 2 items from Amazon. They gave me two parcels. One was quite heavy so I opened it and put the stuff in my rucksack. The other was not mine!

Gave it them back. They scanned my other code and said 'we don't have it'. Then had a look. They had a queue and were getting a bit shirty. Went home and Amazon said 'collected'. Useless. Got a refund via customer services, but it puts me off using the PO. And I was using them for a good reason - to not have to hang around for days for collections.

They have some great offers on atm so another Jackery with a carry case and a free Battery charging cable and clamps on its way.
And it's Amazon Prime day today - I saw a Jackary 1000 with a 100w solar panel for about £500 last night! Very tempted...

Good price if you don't have any other panels. I have enough for the 400w the E1000v2 can take .

£198 for a E1000 v2 after the PB wins were taken off :ugeek:

Treated myself to a belated retirement present, seeing as it's Prime day. Pair of Canon image stabilising binoculars. Looking to take up astronomy again, plus we've joined the RSPB.

As you may know, I dislike deliveries. One reason is having to hang around, sometimes for more than a day when they are vague. Another is that sometimes things get left on your doorstep, which can get stolen, and also could advertise to burglars that you are out.

I tried getting things delivered to my local Post Office, and last time it was a royal mess up. So this time I am trying an In Post Locker at Sainsbury's. I have their app, and it has detected my parcel. I don't know exactly where the lockers are, or how you open them. I think the app might be able to do it.

The item is from Uniqlo. They had a list of days of the week, for you to presumably one, but it seems totally irrelevant to the process, as I picked Wednesday, and they then said it will arrive between Thursday and next Tuesday, ie every day except Wednesday! Maybe it was to pick days to avoid? Who knows. There was no confirmation, clear as mud.

Ordered a Lifesaver Jerrycan just over a week ago. Had to order it from Germany as everywhere seems to be out of stock in the UK apart from one place which I have read some not so great reviews about. It is currently "being assessed by customs" so could be quite a bit longer yet and I still have the customs charges to pay. Fingers crossed it actually arrives safely here and doesn't disappear at the Post Office like my fan did in summer. Currently looking at making some improvements to security and have a few bits and pieces I need to buy next payday. Chimney sweep cancelled last minute so had to get someone else in a couple of weeks later and it appears we need a flue liner so waiting for his quote

Our storage bed died suddenly and I am awaiting delivery of a new one. But that has forced me to pull a huge number of preps out of the old bed and review them which is I think a good thing. The old bed had limited access and I had genuinely forgotten some of what was in there. I have now purchased some more storage boxes that I hope will help me be more organised when everything gets put away in the new bed.

Was under mine today. Dug the Tog 3 cotton-filled duvet out and put it's cover on ready for use soon. I have 4 x 5l water containers that need rotating. Also fire escape ladder, hiking boots, spare electric radiator, laundry basket, and my winter (thin wool) duvet. And of course a box of old cables!

Not cheap at all and neither are the replacement filters, however, right now I am considering it money well spent. It could filter the 1000 litres in the IBC if needed in an emergency and we can and probably will use it for camping. I have a couple of small Sawyers, but wanted something a bit more substantial. The cost was a toss up between a couple of nights away somewhere or the water filter, I chose the water filter
