Top Bar Bee Hives

Post by StephenLee »

I have been researching Top Bar Bee Hives (TBBH) and think that they may be worth experimenting with.
Most websites on TBBH's seem to fall into 2 categories; those who's content is more theoretical than empirical and those where the TBBH is the only hive that they have used.

Has anyone got any practical experience of both traditional hives (National, WBC, Langstroth, etc) and TBBH who would be able to offer me comparative advice ? Please.

Sorry, I know nothing at all about beekeeping, but I did find this interesting :D

and also read elsewhere that police are using bees to sniff out drug hauls. :|
I feel sorry for bees...

funnily enough, there was a report on local TV news(spotlight sw) about a company in the nearby large town(15mile round trip), that makes bee hives actually expanding and moving into larger premises to keep up with demand, makes a change from firms laying off.
