feel all festive now thank you :D

I got a couple bags of rock salt from asda after it was mentioned on here. First year I have ever had the money and opportunity to do it so no more shoveling the drive for hubby coming home. Also got sis to get me snow cleat (shoe elastics) for the whole family for early christmas present.

I'm jealous of all these shiny new pressure canners being bandied about! Maybe Santa will bring me one if I ask nicely...

As we are heading into the cold months and Blacks is having a sale I picked up the Stanley classic 2qt vacuum bottle, it was still £20 in the sale, but a life time warrantee makes me think they believe in their product.

Also picked up two books The Penguin Book of Card Games (no power = need for things to do) and Handbook of the SAS and Elite Forces for Oxfam, I also picked up an extra Sangean ANT-60 Reel wire antenna for my Eaton G3 shortwave radio.

Also ordered http://www.amazon.co.uk/Home-Brew-Wine- ... 010&sr=8-4 as its good for making volka and/or fuel or water if you are in the UK.

Went to Makro today and got a vacuum sealer that was on offer for £20 + additional bags. Also looooots of tinned sweetcorn, mushrooms, potatoes, vegetable mixes and mandarines + 5kg of pasta, 4kg of red kidney beans, 1100's bag of tea and 10kg of dry and 14 packs of wet food for my cats. And now until I mend my van no more preps.

No Lil, it's in a 2.5kg can - you could basically open the can, add some rice, sauce and you have a dinner. At the moment I concentrate on buying tins and when the pantry is full of it I will be getting a dehydrator for other things.
The vacuum sealer works a treat! I've just baged the whole 1100's tea in to smaller bags. Love it :D
