So who wants to see how it is done, Dead birds and rabbits skinning, plcking etc.

Rabbit dispatching, fluffy bunny in a box to ready for the pot.

These are real skills for those who really want to know, it can be messy, upsetting and if you don't like to think about where your food comes from then it isn't for you.

Remember you cant survive on rabbit meat alone, it's too light. You'd starve to death..

It takes more resourses for the body to break it down than it contains, it is known and documented as "Rabbit starvation" simple answer is to eat what the rabbit eats as well.

It probably goes for most meat only diets though, think Atkins diet.

It's a good idea to have these skills. I was taught to kill and dress Rabbits and Chickens many years ago, no I don't like doing it. If you can dress them, you can just about do anything else, it's just on a different scale.
Before we go off topic, there are humane killers out there for the squeamish, and I think everyone is aware a varied diet is essential to health.

Paunch your rabbit and remove each leg at the joint (a cleaver or secateurs would be fine for this).

Seperate the muscle covering the gut from the skin (it comes away quite easily)

Continue until you work your way round to the back.

Then pull the skin over the back legs as if taking off a sock, We'll attend to the tail later.

Pull the skin forwards and ease out each front leg in turn.

Pull the skin forwards exposing the neck.

Then sever the head or skin it if required. Remove the tail, tail glands and the remains of any organs running through the hips

Wipe over with a hot damp cloth to remove traces of fur, wash and enjoy
