hi, i started looking at prepping after watching the program on sky tv recently ,
i started thinking of the winters we have had and when people panic buy and then my family haveing to go with out or struggle on half rations as shops are sold out.

i wouldnt be really able to go to a bolt hole in a apocolapse scenario as have 7 kids ,3 stepsons ,2 of which are special needs and 4 biological children 3 boys under 7 and a 11 month old daughter,

so im thinking short term prepping really but wanted to join to gain knowledge.
im slowly building stores by adding to each grocery shop.

i have a kitchen cupboard of tinned goods already so shouldnt really have to dip into an emergency stash unless its an emergency :) .
i think thats it please excuse any spelling or punctuation errors i should have listened more at school instead of daydreaming.

Welcome! Bugging out to a bolt hole isn't an option for many of us so don't worry. Your on the right track already, extending your stocks is the easiest way to prep and most likely to be used. Plenty of information on here and any question's will soon be answered ;)

Hi and welcome from another newbie to the forum.

I've got 2 less than you, but understand quite well that "bugging-out" is a mammoth task for a family our size. I also think that there are very, very few scenarios that would make that a necessity. It's more likely to be as you say, not being able to get to the shops because of winter weather. Or, having the power go out because of ice or snow, etc.

Looking forward to getting to know you on the forum.

Hi :) I've been web-searching for a few weeks, looking for prepper advice and I came across your board today. Having read your posts (and having read a lot of very different posts on some non-UK forums I won't mention), I registered, etc. just to say what a bloody lovely lot you are :D This is the friendliest, most helpful, least arrogant forum I've seen. If the worst ever did happen, you're the sort of people I hope will survive x

What a lovely thing to say and I agree that this is a fab forum and there is always someone who can help and will not sneer or judge if its something that's been asked a million times already. Very friendly folk on here who make it enjoyable to be part of the UKP family.

Oh and welcome to the forum! :P
