Flax (Linseed) grows all over Lil. It grows well here. If you've ever seen a field of pale blue flowers standing about 2ft high, that's flax :) It's everso pretty.

not got it here, I saw a pic of a field of the stuff on a knitting forum and its gorgeous, I wish we did have it !
But I think you can also eat the seeds, they're healthy. If it grows down there and in France it must be warmer climate stuff I suppose.

Flax seed oil helps vitamins and minerals to absorb into your digestive system. But it must be cold pressed and kept in fridge. It's the equivalent to fish oils for all you meat eaters :D
I usually add about 2 tbs of flax seeds, hemp seeds and sunflower seeds every time I make bread.

there is no drug production with hemp. you couldn't get high even if you tried. the hemp female is where you get the fantstic seed. both male and female plant are used for textile, plastic, fuel, food building materials, beauty products, medicine etc etc. pretty much everything made from petrochemicals can be made from hemp. henry fords first car was designed to run on hemp fuel that he grew in his own fields.

it is an amazing plant, i grew some last year on my allotment along with sunflowers, pumpkins and poppies for their seeds. my missus uses them when she makes bread and our boys love mixed seeds grilled. i used the stems when dried out as you would bamboo canes and the leaves fed the rabbits. didn't use any fertilizer. and it kept the bottom of my allotment weed free. got a few strange looks from other people on the allotment but when they realized what it was i got question after question about it. it was a good way to make friends with the other people at the allotment.

Whether the strain your using has high THC production or not is irrelevant without the proper paperwork. It is still the same plant and the potential is there.

Don't get me wrong, it is an amazingly versatile plant and if you can practice growing and using it now, lawfully or are prepared to take the risk, then go for it!

As for hemp as a fuel, the first diesel engine was designed to run on peanut oil, whether hemp is better, who knows but you get a lot more oil out if other seeds :) I'm not convinced Ford had anything to do with it though...

Not only was Ford's first car made to run on hemp fuel, it was actually made out of hemp plastic.

The first draft of the Declaration of Independance was written on Hemp paper. Sailing ship's sails were made out of hemp as were clothes which were so hard wearing, they were passed down through generations.

The US government got Hemp banned with the help of William Randolph Hurst because he had bought thousands of acres of trees for making paper for his newpapers. Hemp paper is much better than wood paper but he was after making a killing. DuPont had also starting making plastics from oil and also wanted Hemp banned.

They produced some propaganda films to make hemp out to be an evil product but to convince doctors to get behind hem, they had to rename it because doctors would never agree to ban Hemp. They renamed it Marijuana (a deliberate Mexican name) by the time the doctors realised they were referring to Hemp it wa too late.

Hemp is the only plant on the planet (so I believe) where you can tell the sex of the plant simply by looking at it.

Many people survived the great depression on Hemp. George Washington used to grow acres of the stuff. It is without doubt the greatest plant God put on this planet and you could argue he had a good reason to. However, the powers that be have decided that they know better than God and made it illegal to grow the natural stuff and you need a licence for the industrial stuff.

People have been using Hemp for 6,000 years without any problem but our leaders know what is best for us so we should do as they say.

GOD or GOVERNMENT????? Hmmm......Let me think who I would trust on this matter.

Now a serious question.

I know you can smoke the naughty hemp but can you smoke the legal hemp? I know you can't get high off it but I was thinking as an alternative to tobacco.

Does anyonw know?
