My tinned Marg arrived today but have not tasted it yet.The best before date on mine is 07/12
I also got a few tins of the happy cow tinned cheese which i have tasted and will be nice with some cream crackers.

Sorry, the experiment never came off. We had a sudden bereavement involving one of our parents and this totally dropped off the map in terms of importance. Next time the wife is up to baking I'll ask her and report.

Ah, nightmare. Sorry to hear that.
The post wasn't directed at you, BTW, Ogre. It was just a general call out asking someone to open a tin and give it a taste test.
I think one of the reasons that people aren't opening the tins might be because the tins are quite large! I know the webpage said they have 450 g in them but I just didn't relate it to size properly. At 5 for £1.00 I was thinking they'd be quite small, but they aren't.
I might be baking today or tomorrow and if so I will try to use the margarine and let you know what I think.
The cheese is OK, quite mild but does have a processed taste. After a time of no cheese at all (if you have no dairy animals handy) I'm sure it will be very welcome. I think it will melt well and could be happily added to pasta.
