Hey everyone. I'm pretty much a newbie when it comes to prepping, but I've started learning what I can do, and picked up hints and tips from various sources. Ok, I admit most of which are things like youtube and the like, but we've all got to start somewhere, right?
I'm a Dad of three young kids so even if there's the slightest chance of any SHTF situation, I'd never forgive myself if I didn't do everything I possibly could to prepair for whatever we can. Luckily, my long-term GF is on the same page and we've started stocking up on whatever we can. Mainly canned foods or anything with a long shelf-life.
Mainly, we've been focusing on bugging in for now, mainly because traveling with such young children doesn't seem like such a good idea if most of the population are loosing their heads, making standard methods of traveling a challeng in itself. That being said, we know we'll have to make plans for making tracks eventually, but plan on digging in for as long as possible.
We live on the edge of a housing estate that's surounded by fields, but not lived here long and don't generally socialise with or really know anyone nearby, save for the polite hello in the mornings. I still don't know if this is a good or bad thing, but for now, I think the less anyone knows about our business, the better.
Still, we need all the advice and help we can get in order to plan on a limited/realistic budget. Hence why I'm here
Apologies is this is overly long and drawn out.
Noob Alert!

Hi and welcome to the forum. Don't worry, we all have to start somewhere and it sounds like you are making a good start.
If you don't mind me asking whereabouts in the UK are you? (I don t need your full address... )

Hi and thanks for all the welcomes I'm another one who used to live in Yorkshire (Barnsley/Doncaster area) Now I live in Chesterfield, Derbyshire.
I've not quite figured out how to set up my location on my info yet, but I'll sort it as soon as I can.
