Re: Beans, beans and more beans.
are you saying that real live worms are mailed to you in the post? arh! so glad I am not a postman/postwoman - I hate worms, its bad enough seeing them in the soil, never mind coming directly to you through the post box!
Re: Beans, beans and more beans.
Knew about the worms, had em through the post before for fishing and seen them on the wormery suppliers but not bees. That's pretty cool (if you're not a bee) I thought to start a hive you'd have to go to a local apiarist or find a swarm. Hmmm got plans for a beehive somewhere
Think I should change the title of the post to Beans, worms and bees?

Re: Beans, beans and more beans.
I tried to make a wormery twice...1st time no lid..worms escaped...2nd time ...no holes in bottom, left box out in the rain and drowned the buggers...woops, I gave up after that !
Re: Beans, beans and more beans.
Aha yeah but now you know about the lid and the drainage holes, what could possibly go wrong a third time?

Now politicians.... They are utterly useless at everything, swaning around breathing air that useful people could be breathing.

Weather foracast isn't good for next week so if you haven't planted the beans yet I would hang off another couple of weeks.

Re: Beans, beans and more beans.
Haha bloody typical, planted a few of each type today but in pots in the GH so should be ok, take em a few weeks to get big enough to go into the ground so should be free of risk then. Have also put a corrugated sheet of plastic in an arch over a piece of ground to form a cloche and laid plack placcy sacks down to warm the soil a bit in anticipation.
