Tinned food rotation

Post by shrophopper »

Hi All,

Does anyone know of an easy way to rotate tinned food? I've heard of shelf inserts that you can place in a cupboard so that when you push a new tin on the left side it slides round and the oldest tin comes to the front on the right side of the shelf! I'm having trouble keeping FIFO organised! - any advice welcome

Thanks,

easiest way we do it is put the new tins at the back and pull the older tins forward so we use the old tins first...simples!!!

hi there,

i'm having the same problem and i'm thinking about slanting my shelving - so that all tins go in on their side + roll to the front and you just add the newest to the top of the shelf and use from the bottom. I haven't seen an insert like the one you mentioned, but would be interested if anybody else has as I'm not naturally organised enough to keep on top of this!

I just searched for FIFO can tracker on amazon and a few interesting results came up. May be worth investing in something like this - unfortunately I'm not handy enough to knock one up myself!!
