very interesting project :D i`m gona be following this one! and electric stills are completely safe they are basically a immersion heater in a water cylinder they don`t explode or catch fire or poison the air  horror stories of exploding stills are either crude open flame stills or pot stills with the valve shut.

how is it coming along just found this post any luck so far as im thinking of doing this i currently ferment alcohol so the process is similar except the still part. im think of doing it for a preping point of view for fuel use mainly and mayby doing it on a bigger scale and using a mixure in a my car tosave costs and put the money toward more prep stuffs  as i have some land when i could have a larger outdoor still and dont have any one else near by for about a mile. i would declare to the tax man if using for fuel so it legit but they couldnt tell if there was a few more gallons produced if you u burnt it up in therory ;)

any update thank axel

edit - also i would think you could use honey instead of sugar as i make mead some times and it ferments just as good or better even so it could become a free source if u kept bee i did have a few hive untill last summer due to my travling around 8-)
