Powdered soya milk

I know there are other vegans on here apart from me so thought I would share this:

Dried soya milk powder! It's £8.50 here, which is the cheapest I've found it - most stores such as Goodness Direct sell it at £9.50.

I know it's expensive but it has come down in price since the last time I looked for a powdered soya milk substitute. I'm allergic to dairy so this will be useful. I might order some from Goodness Direct as I need to order some other stuff. If I do I'll let you know what it's like!

It says on the tub that you can bake with it. I've just ordered some so I'll see what it's like. If it's like the powdered (cow's) milk I remember from my student days I'll probably spit the first mouthful of tea out in disgust! But then it is only supposed to be an emergency supply and if necessary I could drink my tea black. (Shudder!).

Reminds me .... must hie me off to Sainsbury's to get some more of their basics teabags, I've only got five boxes in the cupboard!

Thanks Smiley. I have some Ecomill Soya milk powder as a standby. It really is YUK! So have decided to aim to store 1 year's worth of alpro soya milk cartons as it's yummy and keeps for at least a year. The alpro is free from glucose and such c**p, unlike the Ecomill.

Why don't you get some herbal/fruit teas - no milk needed! :mrgreen:

They don't have that same comforting effect as a 'proper' cup of tea, though, do they? :cry:

I don't know - can't stand the things myself!

But I just thought, as an alternative, if you can't stand the powdered milk...?
