I lost my Dad in 2003 and that changed things for me I inherited a lot of his tools, some sheath knives and can honestly say I became aware consciously of my EDC after 9/11 before I ever knew about what an EDC was ! as Dad always used to carry a decent SAK everyday and keys etc on a chain so that already had gotten passed onto me, after 9/11 I thought about if I got caught up in something like that what would I have on me to be prepped.....
Here I am in 2012 recently unemployed (strange sequence of events) too, after having worked all my life since 16, (now 41 and never had to claim anything before) so even more aware of the need to get my plans sorted and think everything out as to what job to take and all my options.
Wow there's a lot to consider, my BOB is well on the way, thinking of BOB locations and plans and even a second BOV like an old double cab HiLux maybe, and think 'what if' with most things now....
Don't want to sound 'paranoid' but had a huge upheaval recently and see the need to prep now as very real.
