fishing
Re: fishing
google or youtube , yoyo fishing . loks simple enough and leaves you time to do other things .
YES i walked away mid sentence , you were boring me to death and my survival instincts kick in .
Re: fishing
Question is , do you KNOW how to fish? Then you will know the kit to carry. You speak of pole rigs, so I guess you know. I see many posts on the web by folks who pack line and hooks and will *learn* when they hump their BOB into the wilderness.

Re: fishing
I've always loved fishing, I grew up doing it. I've not had a massive amount of luck with beach casting and river/pond fishing. Don't get me wrong you will get a handful of fish but a lot will be quite small or not great eaters, its also a little time consuming. If you are hungry, truely hungry you will eat anything.
I tend to mostly do canoe fishing with a kayak fishing poles which is a little below 3ft in length as it gets me the highest level of fish I'd want to eat, in under two hours.
You will get a lot of people that use a handline, I find it harder to control where I'm putting it and much harder to bring a fish in, but it does work.
You will need to read a few books, as you need to know what the fish you are targeting are, as you will need to know what bate works best, where they live and how deep to set the line.

Re: fishing
Ive been fishing for 30 years mainly carp and pike with abit of sea thrown in from time to time, the tackle i store consists of a selection of end tackle ie: hooks, weights and 2 spod rods with fixed spool reels. The reason i use spod rods is that they can be used to catch all sorts of fish from carp and pike to roach for pike bait and they have enough power to go sea fishing with. The best all round rod for the prepper on a budget that wants the means to catch all sorts of fish as they cost around £30 for a decent one that will do a good job.
Re: fishing
Yo yo is a yank thing. Of course we have the Bolt Rig. Use that with a barbed hook. Or is that too easy?bbob2012 wrote:im a very keen fisherman who fish with 2 clubs:) tho i see alot of problems with the yoyo, one is that many fish in UK are small so not alot of food also the problem of pike etc however shall invest in one or two and have a play with them cheers
