Good start.
I would be thinking about where I go everyday, that then determines what I put into my EDC. For example, I work 16miles from home so drive everyday. I always have with me mobile phone, cereal bar snack, bottle of water, spare cash, ladies things  , small first aid kit. That comes with me when I leave my car. I have in the car to take if deemed necessary a waterproof coat, fleecy jacket.

In the boot are a full bag for emergencies including change of clothes, walking boots, fire lighting kit, multi tool, torch etc.

However, Le Mouse who travels on the tube has a different requirement in her kit (see earlier thread).

So a good start but you may need to add other things. :D

A separate torch such as a Maglight may be a good idea instead of just the in-built one in the radio, if it gets wet, it's not going to work.

Thanks for the reply preppingsu.

I work about three or four miles away in an urban environment so I suppose when the SHTF hopefully I can get home within the hour... It's mainly for the totally unexpected black Swan event. Good idea about the cereal bars. I reckon I could squeeze one or two of those in.

More first aid stuff couldn't hurt either... Though I wanted to avoid carrying a bag as I reckon it could make you stand out in a crisis situation.

Good point about a bag making you stand out. If you had to make a hasty retreat then a bag could be cumbersome and also make you a potential target.

Is there a possibility of storing a bag at work that you could access once you've determined the potential threat/emergency etc?

I hadn't thought of that, I've got a small LED one I can dig out, cheers

Another great idea Su! - I have a small locker, and large drawer that might fit a backpack. I think that's gonna be my next project

Seems silly but a change of socks? Even if on your way to work it was lashing down and your feet where soaking it can be annoying but in the dead of winter could actually be a bit more serious.
