Our plan

Post by MrPickles »

If the economy collapses and the now known world ends we "borrow" a boat and heading to south of France or Spain. The winters are better then here and I always wanted a house on the beach.

Do you speak French or Spanish ? As i assume The French and Spanish will still be alive and not take kindly to someone who doesn't speak their language in tough times.

If SHTF in big time then we will move there after a month of buging in. And after a month I think Eu 80% will starve to death.
If you fancy to be a Lieutenant then it is done. :D

The EU have more chance of survival than we have. We import most of our food over 50%, we ship it in it goes to distribution centres then to supermarkets and straight onto the shelves all within 48 hours it is not stored anywhere to save cost. So within 2 days we as a country are without food with no more been shipped in. Most countries in the EU produce more than half their own food so likely odds they will survive longer than us especially in a rural beach area you want.

But you are on the money most people will starve to death after a month in most countries if they don't die from dehydration from lack of water.

I think you have that wrong, in a way.

If you have travelled around Europe, or even travel around Europe today you will see much more of a 'homesteading' mentality, much more so than in the UK. If you think that 80% of the EU will die of starvation within a month of TSHTF then, I think you are looking at a >80% die off in the UK. In that respect you might be better off (despite the weather) staying put.

There are lots of concerns over the bugging out abroad plan but its perhaps worth a thread of its own.

I don't know too much from the Eu, but i don't think if there a SHTF no food will arrive to the city's not just here but no where (I'm not willing to sell my food for money what worthless even if I'm French farmer). And then ppl from the city's will go to the country side and take the food kill and loot.

Plan C: I heard Cornwall is also very nice.
