I just use 45p asdas coco plastic tub, water tight, light and lots of room inside for steel wool, cotton balls, water proof matches, two lighters,10 packs of flints, tinder and char...I think if your going to carry a fire starting kit you want one thats going to last.

Essgee. Just a suggestion, but hacksaw the tube open to retrieve the contents. (if possible) At least you will still have the resin you foraged and not have to go through it all over again.

Pine resin, or 'pitch' as it is also known, can be used to make a very good glue. This vid shows one method for making this glue. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lYhKhwTVePI

Off topic, I know, but thought I'd share it anyway.

Hope you get the resin problem sorted.

Ziplock bags into a pouch for me.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.
