Hi from Newcastle Upon Tyne.

Post by Chippa Fate »

Just found site from Google, hope to get to know some of the local prepper's in person.

My back ground is ex RAF aircraft eng, then I retrained as a automotive tech in civvy street and ran/owned a car repair garage. More recently, I became a qualified electrician and currently refurbish houses for a living.

My interests are renewable energy, alternative power and fuels. Enjoy the technical side to new innovations.

My idea of bugging out are more hot showers, micro waves and mp3’s. Not lean to shelters and drinking from a muddy puddle. Yes you can live on it but why? Get prepped, get trained and build a better future.

As I live near the coast, I’m working on desalination equipment and tidal power generation.

Thanx

Welcome!

Your skills will be greatly sought after!

In fact :) do you know where to get second hand back-boiler systems for solid fuel stoves?

I did wind and I'm doing solar......many mistakes and hurdles....

We are inland but still in the newcastle postal region

Welcome to the community but by the sounds of things you already have a lot of thins covered and the northeast is a good area for prepping as long as you don't mind the odd spot of rain

NEW TO HERE. I am from Chester Le Street

My Girlfriend and I have been looking into developing a SHTF plan for a number of years now and have slowly built up our knowledge and ideas of what to do.

Was wondering if any of you Guys had any immediate advice for new members?

Hi. thanx for the warm welcome.

As to the 2nd hand water box for solid fuel stoves, the ones I've seen are usually still attached to the stove, 2nd hand ones are rare so i can see why your are having trouble (I did see one on ebay but it was so corroded).
All I can offer is to ensure if you find one is that it's not been damaged on removal and not overly corroded on the inside as to make wall thickness dangerously thin. good luck.
My intention is not to simply survive.
