Hello from Hampshire
Re: Hello from Hampshire
When I was doing it, I personally, made a lot of my own clothing. Most reenactment groups have a wealth of internal skills within their members such as smiths, leather workers, carpenters etc and there are plenty of traders at shows who sell period items and a search on the net will bring up others. I used to deal a lot with how things were done and explaining historical differences. We didnt actually have to use a raw water supply but having the knowledge on how people got round that for thousands of years has value. Its the same for everything else.

Hello and welcome, Wel Jel about everyone who does living history, I am like a big kid watching the living history peeps at Caerphilly Castle on their several visits a year, Even with my passion for medieval history i have always want to do reinactment but unfortunately the life choice of becoming completely tattooed put a dampener on those ambitions

I like that most groups have the skills sets amongst its fellow members. The only reenactment group I have near me is a viking one. I'm not particularly interested in learning to fight with them but I think I will give them a call and see what traditional skills I can learn from them.
