My wife and I looked at many possible bug-out locations.
I must admit that my best friend came up with the best idea for our family evac-prep, buy an old 80 foot barge hull and convert it.
I could not believe how cheap the hulls are and maybe I'll go that route should I manage to convert my compo into a bit more.
My best friend is an ex-submariner and he is ready to go on his boat if needed.
The only thing that puts me off is the pre-SHTF mooring fees and the worry my injuries would make a project of that size a tad to much for me, my wife and son.

problem is most of the bigger bunkers are bought by data storage companies

I cannot think why data storage companies will want them unless they are going to fill them with boxes of tapes. Using them for server farms won't work - the biggest problem is removing the heat and with thick concrete walls and underground rooms that will be difficult.

They're not storing digital copies, they're storing good old fashioned hard copy paper.
