At this point I wish to vigorously point out that none of the people on Youtube who are pooping in bags is in fact me.Devonian wrote:You clearly have way too much spare time LOL!!Briggs 2.0 wrote: Preparing for spillage and splashback, now that is really poop-bag prepping. Going back to the original topic, up until now I've had an 'it won't come to the South West' viewpoint but I'm going to review my what-if contingencies this weekend, probably stock up on a bit more alcohol gel and look at getting some more gloves and face-masks. Mind you, if I was in a metropolitan area, I'd have a different viewpoint.

Okay, putting aside pooing into bags (it must be a logistical nightmare!m4me wrote: Agreed on painkillers - you can buy Naproxen OTC in UK as Feminax.

Re: Pandemic Checklist
Naproxen is the drug name. Yes it's an NSAID Non Steroidal Anti Inflammatory - best taken with food or milk to line the stomach. If you're on it long term (like I have been) you'll be put on a secondary medicine that essentislly lines the stomach as being on any anti inflammatory for long periods can damage the stomach lining.
Feminax is just a name of product that contains Naproxen which is helpful as it saves looking at medicine boxes on the shelf to see what contains Naproxen if you're looking for it.

Decaff: How about a cardboard crapper, the kit only comes with ten bags so you'd need to source more..... But its a start
Or if you're worried about collapse (the Ploo is supposed to hold upto 16 stone), theres always This, again you'd need more bags
Cat litter is really useful to have on hand for this kind of prepping

Yup. I have the kind made out of pine sawdust pellets. It smells really nice, absorbs well, and isn't nearly as heavy as the white grainy stuff. I bought it ostensibly for the cats to bug-in with, but then I realised it had human potential...so now I have a large stock of it. I store it next to the cat food and no-one bats an eyelid.ForgeCorvus wrote:Cat litter is really useful to have on hand for this kind of prepping

Re: Pandemic Checklist
I have had to do this on a couple of occasions where I just had no access to a toilet. Back of the van and a large bucket with a bin liner inside makes it a relatively easy operation. For a longer term need then sawdust and a pit seem the order of the day. Years ago working at remote locations we had the old bucket toilet which was used with an Elsan fluid and tipped into a pit with lime which , according to the info on the Elsan bottle , turned into a sort of fertilizer quickly. I was out of touch with the jeyes fluid on a different thread so Elsan fluid probably doesn't work that way now either been years since I used itStasher wrote: Okay, putting aside pooing into bags (it must be a logistical nightmare!)

Re: Pandemic Checklist
We've recently got a weekly food-waste collection, they gave us the first roll of Bio-Degradable bags and we can buy more from any Council facility.... Thing is I think the rolls are about fifty bags and they're only a couple of quid, rather then B-D bags from the supermarket which seem to only be a dozen or so for about the same money.
Thinking about buying several Council rolls
