That's mine, had it for ages. I tend to use chafing fuel with it, three tent pegs also work as a stove btw.
Under £5 hobo cooker kit
Re: Under £5 hobo cooker kit
Nice one, i guessed other people had probly come up with the same, i too have chafing gel, ive not tried it in this yet, but i will now.
This is my meths bottle range, i bought the 1l bottle last week, its a german military one and has a similar tap similar to the trangia fuel bottle. The white one is a nizoral bottle. I like them alot.

this is where i had most my guidance, but i made the smaller redbull size ones a little taller as i found my 1st didnt hold enough fuel to boil 1/2l of water, so it is
from my meths stove thread...
"Have been trying a few different ones with different size cans and seem to have found the best ones for each, but would like to get hold of some of those new 250ml cans
1mm drill seems to be the best size for the jets, i havent used wadding inside any as ive been learning to fill them with just enough to boil 500ml of water.
The bottom edge of the outer can definately needs sealing with something, hi temp silicone, or gasket, or ive found something called "serious glue"
The small cans (these are redbull or the smaller 3 for a £1) work fine but instaed of the 16 holes i use 12 and you need to make it taller as it wont hold enough fuel for a single boil."
Make the bottom (inside) part 1" tall

The chafing gel tins I use are cheap, store for years and burn for around 6 hours a tin. Its a nice fuel, although I will say it takes about 5 minutes to boil a full zebra can of water.munchh wrote:Nice one, i guessed other people had probly come up with the same, i too have chafing gel, ive not tried it in this yet, but i will now.

That's a really tidy setup, I'll admit I think it's better than mine I have my water bottle separate which sucks imho, something I'm trying to remedy with another setup I'm working on.
If at first you don't succeed, excessive force is usually the answer.
Re: Under £5 hobo cooker kit
I like chaffing gel because you cannot spill it, its safer to carry in your car, or anywhere really.
Im not sure my kit is better, i was lucky to find the wide mouth stainless bottle, ive not seen one anywhere?
