One of the many things that puts me off storing pot noodles is the amount of space they take up. When you tear off that foil lid and look inside you see loads of empty space in there. I've bought a few of those mug shot pasta/noodle meals for those times when you want to just be able to add boiling water to something and it's ready. I can fit 3-4 of those in the same space I could fit 1 pot noodle. They're similar in nutritional content (or lack of!) and flavour varieties, and can be similarly improved by the addition of extra herbs/sauce/whatever.

My main prep is for possible power cuts and these kind of meals are a quick, easy to way to get some hot carbs down you, if nothing else!

Seems they're a bit like Marmite - love 'em or hate 'em! I like the fact they are in their own pot - even if does take up a bit of space. In most prepping situations having 'throw away' eating utensils/plates etc is a bonus - no washing up! I was freezing when I ate mine last night and I have to say it did a very good job of warming me up!

You would of thought this type of food and easy to prep would be ideal for preppers. I don't mind pot noddles, but after reading how much space they take up I am thinking other wise. Unless! I open them and store them in an air tight container?

I also store super noddles from lidl.

I popped in to Home Bargain today and they're selling these Koka noodles in bulk, it's £7.50 for a box of 30, making them 25p each! They had them in 3 different flavours too. They also sold them in individual packets but I can't remember how much they were. I get my mug shots from there for 33p each.

My wife uses one of those plastic chinese tubs with a lid, put them in with some boiling water, lid on, give them a shake 5 mins and they are done, or I cook tham in my primus pot on my stove, sometimes indont bother with the sachet, just some black pepper salt, or marmite, yum. :D
I found them the first time I went in a poundshop in coventry, about 12 years ago, 5 pack for £1 back then.

You can get about five or six Mugshots in the space of one Potnoodle.
That said sometimes the pot is handy.

Theres also theBatchelors range that come both potted and packaged (the packs have slightly more in them)

Are instant noodles/pasta/rice a useful part of your food preps? Yes, as long as they're not your only food prep

I'm partial to the occasional Pot Noodle and a Mugshot. I don't have them in my preps, but I DO have Sainsburys instant noodles, curry flavour. I love 'em!
