Norway is even harsher and colder than here in Scotland, I wouldn't go there, I'd head south to where its warmer and easier to grow things.

Having read the OP's reply it seems a well thought out plan , going somewhere you're more likely to fit in. I do tend to agree with some of the comments about moving earlier rather than later though of course timing could be an issue. I tend to believe in the long slow crash type of event so it would up to Wasp himself as to when he decides enough is enough and makes the move. Probably best to go before all his assets in this country , assuming there are any , lose too much value or become unsaleable . Taking a bit of wealth with you will certainly help smooth things out.

I wouldn't go anywhere near any of the former SU states for bugout or relocation purposes.
- The further east you go, the worse the corruption gets. Moldova ranks 103 out of 175 on the TI corruption index. As a "wealthy" foreigner, you can expect a lot of attention
- Kremlin-inspired nationalism - Transnistria is a frozen conflict and the Kremlin has a well-rehearsed methodology of disrupting states that it considers still in its sphere of influence: agitate the local Russian population, provoke a reaction, destabilise, and then go in to "protect" its ethnic brothers
- Poor neighbourhood: Moldova is a land-locked country surrounded by poor neighbours. Its chances of economic recovery or development are low, hence why so many Moldovans are leaving the country
- Public services: if it is anything like other countries in the region, public services will have very low capacity highly conditional on your ability to pay informal charges
- Pass-through country: Moldova has historically been a place that tank battalions didn't really even notice as they trampled it underfoot on their forays east and west
- Infrastructure - suffered from 30 years of non-investment and plundering by the oligarchs - due for a major disaster I should think
However, these are only my thoughts, although they are based on 20 years' experience living, working in and visiting former Soviet Union countries.
And finally - grey man, always. Armed and aggressive will attract someone with more arms and aggression

Have thought about it a little over the years , more so recently, without going to deep into it my thoughts are .........
If something happens most of Europe would be involved IMO, be it recession war or plague, personally I would head somewhere that is physically separated from potential trouble zones of the world..................
List in no particular order
New Zealand
Australia
Canada
Parts of the USA (Alaska)
Iceland
Greenland
Central/South America (some are definitely no nos, but some not)
Some Parts of Africa
you get the idea, yep anything can go worldwide but at the moment the whole east/west thing does not look good.................
Lots of other options but some totally different cultures which might make it hard to fit in, obviously a lot of the far flung commonwealth countries would be ideal................................
