What will you be taking out with you this SUMMER
Re: What will you be taking out with you this SUMMER
For those in scotland or planning a visit, Avon "skin so soft" is great for midges! Family in Skye says you can tell the local council road workers as they all have lovely skin from using so much! You need to replenish it often.

I heard this one before, would like to try. Which one is best, "Silky moisture", "Firming and Restoring", "Fast Hydration" ? I'm all at sea with the choices..izzy_mack wrote:For those in scotland or planning a visit, Avon "skin so soft" is great for midges! I couldn't tell you which 'option' but we have bottles of the stuff for when we head into midgie territory. It does work, its not an urban myth. I've never thought of it as a prep before, I probably should though.BaseOne wrote:I heard this one before, would like to try. Re: What will you be taking out with you this SUMMER
The vinegar for stings reminds me of an incident a few years ago. At the time I was working on a fire damaged building and had the "honour" of being the one lowered into the building in a cradle from a crane to cut away dangerous hanging timbers. While doing it I managed to swipe my hand into a nest and was stung seven or eight times before the crane could lift me out even though the driver reacted very quickly. I'd never been stung before but knew the story about using vinegar ,not that any was available on the site. There was however an alternative so I spent some time after with my face and hands liberally coated in brown sauce. It worked as well and took the pain away and to be sure I decided the next day to work on the other side of the building but somehow managed to instantly find a second nest and was stung another three times causing the sauce to make a second appearance .

Thank you for reminding me about using Vinegar for a sting, ive heard it before and vaguely remember as a child my Mam using it on a sting on my finger. I had forgot about it, so yes, I too will had some to my summer trips outdoors.

Back up here, not an urban myth. We've been using it for years. The 'flavour' you want is 'original'. Or to give it it's proper name Skin So Soft Original Dry Oil Body SprayDeeps wrote:I couldn't tell you which 'option' but we have bottles of the stuff for when we head into midgie territory. I truly believe they're missing a marketing opportunity with the product
Forgot to add that this http://www.boots.com/en/Boots-Hot-Weath ... l_1121530/ is great to use in hot weather
