izzy_mack wrote:/like you I remember things better if I write them down. Unlike you my notes are not so well organised, I have different notebooks for different things as well as a folder of stuff i've printed off.

I reckon these bits of paper will be of more use to me if there's no power or internet access. Must see if I can update my system though
:D Im just the same as you, izzy_mack, ive bits wrote down in different note books and on little note cards too, I keep saying to myself to get one note book to put it all in, or make a small binder book, maybe I could do both,

Your little note book looks very good UDD, I think I might do a couple of small note books, to go in different bags, etc, eg, EDC, BOB, if I have one in the EDC I can look when im out for what I need. :)

I treated myself to a Filofax earlier this year, loving being organised all over again, u does bring back memories!! ;) you can get unlined paper for them now, in all sorts of colours too, I have white, blue, yellow, purple and pink 8-) if you use lots of paper ive found its cheaper to buy A5 paper and cut down with my paper cutter and hole punch with my filofax punch.

Ha, if i was truly organised i'd have probably wrote them alphabetical order, but i'm not that good.how a bout a small binder? Well, smaller than a4 size so you can fit it in your B.O.B without taking up too much space, I personally can't get away with them being left-handed - the lefties Kryptonite (i read that the other day lol ) - by them time TEOTWAWKI comes i'll have about 10 notebooks! haha :D x
You want a binder where the metal bit is attached to the back of the folder. Then just turn the whole thing around so it's 'back to front'. The papers will be on the left, not the right. Works a treat

Also try http://www.anythinglefthanded.co.uk/

Just remember, just about everyone who has been a genius has been left handed (Einstein, Van Gogh, Newton, Michaelangelo etc) so we're in good company

Ooohhh i've found my Mecca! I read an article the other day about how lefties are more prone to having learning difficulties and being less intelligent! I couldn't believe my eyes! I don't think she's heard of Einstein, Newton, Van Gogh, Michaelangelo or Queen Victoria! And i don't think she's seen the amount of books i have in my library/sewing room! Cheeky so and so! :)

I used to use those moleskin journal type books, but they were just big enough to be awkward to put in a pocket, and I kept losing them. I switched to the field notes small books, and then a while later the slightly cheaper moleskin version (which I didn't even know existed!).
I have two small notebooks in the leather cover that the long suffering Mrs H had made for me somewhere, which works out great. I have one that I keep permanent notes in, and the other is for general/meeting notes that can then be swapped out when it's full, dated and filed away.
It's the right size that I always have it on me, am never without it, and with the Faber-Castell pencil in one of my front pockets is always handy to either refer to or jot stuff down in.

For most of my notes I use evernote which is sync'd across all of my devices/computers (I have a lot!). Its great for grabbing info off the internet or filing a photo taken from a mobile phone.

I also print anything I feel is particularly important and file it in a folder for future reference.

I also have a couple of USB sticks with some useful and/or important data saved.

I've got one (well two if I'm truefull) of those been doing it for years but it's not very organised I have even re wrote it but I keep adding to them as I find useful info. So have decide to look for a small clip folder and see through envelopes so that I can organise it all and have it in category's. Not sure if I will be able to find the small see through envelopes that I want. :D
