You could make it into bio-diesel if you can get a regular free/ cheap supply of the used stuff, it should be ok on that.
If guns are outlawed then only the outlaws will have guns....

if you want to run on veg oil bit dont like the idea of 20 odd year old land rover , then look at the rexton or musso td , both tried and tested merc engines more common in the sprinters and loads of power .
