Does everyone remember when it was "trendy" to keep your Clipper lighter in a shotgun shell?

The kits ive seen all have some sort of rod sticking out of the end and a compas on the other, so they can go on a keyring or a lanyard, my suspicion is they will just look like a novelty keyring!

I'm pretty sure i could make something myself for £10 that is exactly what i need, rather than but one though. I have a few different "capsules", mostly i have put some sort of tinder/sure fire and a small candle, having a fire steel on the same keyring.

I have one of these that i still havent decided what to put in it, its alot bigger than you would want on your keyring though!

I like the idea of splitting up EDC emergency items, because taking out an entire kit - even if it's small - can attract unwanted attention. So I have moved towards keeping the first aid stuff separate, etc. Multiple smaller containers can be distributed around pockets and a backpack.

I was reading last night about someone who had a mico survival kit in an old digital watch, he didn't have much in there, a cut down razor blade, a few cut down matches and a bit of fishing line, maybe thats taking things a bit too far.... :)
