Seems Blacks are having a sale on maps, though no indication for how long:

Apparently if you are new to the website use code 15NEW for an additional 15% off.

Edit: For all-round low price, these folks seem to be doing well:

Haven't bought from either of these, just seeing updates on a fb thread.
John Smith but a little bit foreign.

Well by way of an update...

I've been out on a bimble using both scales. I have to admit I am a convert to 1:25 scale, I just have to remember to use the correct scale on my compass (yeah I made that fatal error twice but noticed fairly fast) after so many years using 1:50 scale it has become habit.

I'm going to use 1:50 scale for further afield from my immediate area and then use the 1:25 for my immediate area and places I visit regularly.

I use the laminated style maps from OS as they are a little more sturdy for outdoor work in rain (there is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes)

The digital version is also good to use and I've now got the app and used the codes on the maps to download the digital version. Good as a back up, however the size of the screen is a limitation. But having said that it's always good knowing that so long as I have power (and a signal) I can find my location within seconds.
