This is a fascinating topic. As a gardener it is something I should look into as many herbs have culinary uses too.I have several books on the subject of herbal medicines, so I think they are now top of the re reading list.

There is certainly a use for such knowledge.I recently had wicked toothache ( it was extracted eventually) and bothb dentist and pharmacist recommended clove oil.It really works.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Robert Frost.

Covid 19: After that level of weirdness ,any situation is certainly possible.

I managed to stave off a visit to the dentist for a few weeks using clove oil. Its tasted foul but I was skint and it did the trick until I was 'in funds'. Its a thumbs up from me too.

Clove oil every time, in the house, the car, the caravan...I have lived on the stuff at times. But its an essential oil that pretty unfeasible to produce on a small scale. Now reasonably fresh cloves will do the job too...anyone know if they are growable in the UK ?

Like a lot of the spices they come from warmer climes. I know they are the flower buds of the tree, but don't know much else.
