I've just been out in the garden to hang some washing out, now that the fog has cleared (environmentally sound in and of itself ) and there was a loud buzzing ... the only plant in my garden that still has bees buzzing around it is the huge mahonia that was here when I moved in, its covered in yellow flowers. Late flowers are *so* useful for pollinators preparing for winter.
I checked out what the RHS and PFAF think about it: pretty good.

WebMD are pretty ambivalent, mostly because its "LIKELY UNSAFE" for children and breastfeeding women - ie, once again, its powerful.
But at this stage, I'm mostly recommending it for bees.
