Turnips & Leeks ?

Our ginger ninjas are at the back door as soon as the handle rattles waiting for food. They follow me (well, trip me up) as I go down to the coop to check for eggs. We don't let them in the veg patch as I would have nothing left. They have scatched the entire garden for bugs, fortunately we stil have grass!!!!! I have seen gardens where the chooks have eaten it all

We buy layers pellets from Countrywide, about £8.00 a bag and it lasts 6-8weeks. Supplement with mixed corn in the evening.

Mine hear the door handle as well. And they go inside the coop by themselves at dusk, but hide where they can see the door. So when I sneak out silently to lock the coop up they see me and pelt back out again I had no idea chickens were so gutsy.. we've had to make an extra portion of porridge for them or they go huffy for the rest of the day .
