Hi Rusty , my neighbour has a log burner in the back room and it is great but see my house well let's say the person who owned it did nothign on it for a long time just rented it out and well it was abused the chimney would need a linner and so on and the hearth would need to be put back and so on an we did get a costing from one firm £3k for a small one in the living room i am tempted for the future but we have to watch our funds as we are both disbaled and limited incoming even with other bits , we had to have so much done on the house for my wife and just had to save hard for a stair lift which is a god send for her well and me on days when i can not walk she can get me on the lift and up to the bedroom .Rusty74 wrote: ↑Wed Sep 28, 2022 7:56 pmid recormend one,1st things i did all them years ago when we bought the place was open up the fireplaces and have log burners and a rayburn put in and gathering and splitting logs keeps you warm as wellsteptoe wrote: ↑Wed Sep 28, 2022 3:05 pmHi winter i did look at those but like you i think not enough heat , i am looking at putting a woodburner in the living roomWinterprep wrote: ↑Wed Sep 28, 2022 1:44 am You get these for wood burners to sit on top. https://www.homebuilding.co.uk/buying-g ... -stove-fan Not sure if your radiators would get hot enough though to work them?

Re: House Radiator fan
Ok all today we got our radfan in the post and wife opened it and the first thing she said was bl00dy hell that is a bit of kit now let's see how it works lol , show me how to fit now this is somewhat ofa review up to the point of using that will come later
The build qulaity is for want of a better idea build like a tank solid and looks stylish to ,it has 6 fans in which i was amazed at the wires all hidden and so are the fans the wire comes out the back and then runs to a plug socket , now i know some will say there is the down fall but my thinking is these fans at the small computer fan and the plug unit is a 12v 500mz so i am sure wit ha little adaptor the barrel type and a usb fitting this can be run by a power bank that is to follw to once i work it all out but for now i just want to say these are top quality , i was not going ot get one they are pricey but if this throws the heat in to the room like they say instead of up the wall or if you have a rad under the window the heat goes behind the curtain this will stop that and throw the heat in to the room , they use very little power again looking at a power bank conversion to , they are so easy to fit take out of the box and pop on the rad they hold in place with what i call earth magnets again the wife did panic a bit as the one in the living room i sit near due to room shape and comp being in the corner and i have a pacemaker but they are small and i am sure as long as i do not hold it to my chest i am safe lol you would not believe the things we have to watch out for .
I will do a picture or 3 once i get my head sorted and again i will review how this throws the heat in to the room , our rads are on internal walls but for people with them under a windows thisis going to mke so much difference i am sure because as said instead of it going up behind the curtain it will throw it in to the room.
Ok hope this helps others

Re: House Radiator fan
Just a little update on the use of this and i can say it is blooming great , if the rad was under a window and this was pointingthe heat back in the room what a huge saving on heat you would get , mine are on internal walls but this little monster moves the heat round thew room well , it is thermostat control cutting in when the rad is at a temp and then off when it cools , the 6 little fans are not over powered so just a small breeze but as i say it moves the qair in the room to warm the room faster .
The picture is not the best and as you see the rad was painted but if the rad was plain i think you would hardly notice the unit on top .
