Grammar. Perhaps, I can understand, but, being a modern person, I prefer not to think too much :D

Ok sorry for the long wait yes liufe does get in my way sometimes i really should have followed up on this sooner but again life hits you and you have to rest i hope you like the review ,
I am going to try and get a better camera as we just can not get good pictures , it is a 12mp camera but again not david baily here lol.

The Diamond Lansky Knife Sharpening Kit Review

Ok where to start other than to say it comes well packaged and the outer label i am going to laminate as then if it gets wet no issues and it is a great reference card it gives the angles the same as the little instruction book but it means i can leave it on the worktop or table while working.

I opened the box and it is well laid out inside all the parts have a place and an extra slot for the stropping hone which i intend to add but i do have a large paddle strop smooth leather one side rough the other , the Diamond kit comes minus the oil bottle as you do not use oil on diamond stones but it has a neat little travel type toothbrush to help when washing the stones in tepid water when they get clogged up .
In my kit i have the deluxe so have the 4 stones and i must say they are weighty stones to none of the cheap knockoff ones from the bay .

Ok so i took a 35 year old knife that has never been near a sharpening in it's life it is more like a butter knife so i started on it with the coarse stone on the 20o angle and just a few passes had it to a nice shape right out to the edge i then moved on to the medium stone the same just a few passes but what i do in between stones is run a marker pen along the edge to show you are hitting the full edge and not missing areas ,i did a few passes and as i say the edge was clean but you can feel a bur so then on to the fine stone i went slow with this to make sure i had a nice smooth even finish you must take your time do not be in a rush slow and steady i know you can run a knife over the electric sharpeners and get a fair edge but this Lansky is putting a razor edge and i am only doing it on the 20o and i am amazed at the finish with the kit , i have since used my leather strop to just get the final mirror finish on it and i can say it is like a razor .

I know some will not want razor sharp knives in the kitchen draw if they have children but if you do then this kit will give you that i have done 4 knives now a couple of jack pykes and a kitchen devil that is now sharp now than when it was new i recon i could be a surgeon with it and that is on the 17o angle and i do mean sharp , i always say you do not need to fear a sharp knife just show it respect but a blunt knife you should fear because a blunt tool will at some point lead to injury and i know that only to well from my days as a very young chippy who use to say oh i sharpen the chisel tomorrow until i had a major slip yup it sure hurt and from that day on i keep tools sharp this lansky kit will leave you wanting to sharpen ever knife and tool you have , i am lining my up in order and will be doing them all my chefs knife kit in the block will be first i have only done smallish blades for now but you can do larger blades just you have to move it in the clamp which is no hardship to be honest .

The pluses on this kit is it is all in one case but i will say i did buy the bench stand for mine you can use the kit just holding the main clamp in your hand so if you were in the field and took this you can do it easy enough but for me as my grip is a little less these days i like a fixed work area and on the stand it is so easy and i do mean easy i would think even a person with little to no experience of sharpening can use it and to that point my wife will be trying it also again there are a couple of extras i added but you do not have to but again i like a workbench to work on well dinning room table lol , the stand was cheap enough and the strop i have not ordered yet but will but i am also now interested in the curved blade and serrated blade set because we have a number of bread knives that over the years well you know get to the point you throw it in the draw and buy another well now i hope i can bring them back to life .

I am not sure what else i can say other than buy one and you will love it i do i will be adding pictures at some point but again it is just having the time and when the body allows me to do stuff .

Now to Pros and Cons
Pros So simple to use and really does the job just take your time and read the instructions before you start that is aimed at the men .

Cons hmmm if i was being picky i would say put the stand in the kit but i do understand it is price so extras it is but other than that i would say i found nothing i could fault .

Ps please remember if you do sharpen knives and use a strop you do not push the blade into the strop you draw it along there are some great videos out there so watch a few and get the idea before you start .

On a final note "You should never fear a sharp knife but respect it , you should fear a blunt knife or tool"

You are having a bit too much to say about Steptoe, that is the second criticism about his information. If you were here a bit more often, you may appreciate his health - history.

You are welcome Steptoe. We sail a tight ship, and are still going.

As for knife sharpening,it looks good. That reminds me,I need to sharpen my razor! :D
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

I can highly recommend the lansky it took a knife that had not been touched and it shaved my arm lol yes i did have ot test it lol , you know us men the proof is in the pudding , i did try and order the leather strop they do but inthe end as i have loads of leather for sheath making i made a paddle board strop worked a treat to polish the edge off , back in the days of the 70's as a carpenter if you sharpen on site say a plane blade you just slapped it back and forward over your palm to knock the bur off lol , i have seen a few cuts like that so took to just using a bit of cardboard box in the end lol
