That Charles Dowding website looks very interesting. I will have a proper read through it next week. Thanks.
Dowding is very watchable and he makes a strong case for No-dig techniques which can be very seductive. But DYOR. If, like me you will not commit to rigorous weeding, and if like me, you balk at spending an arm and a leg on compost, you might find No-Dig is not the answer in your situation.
Check out the Dig For Victory campaign, and as a prepper, research Cuban Community growing
practises. They are very much about getting max bang for your buck in hard times.
I have read about the Dig For Victory campaign in WW2 if that is what you mean? I would not be surprised if we start to see 'victory gardens' start to make an appearance again soon if the suggested food shortages next year really do happen.

I will check out the Cuban Community growing practices too when I get a minute.

I am going to order a book from Charles Dowding to have a read but I am not sure which option to go for. Should start small and buy his brand new book called Organic Gardening the Basics of No Dig Growing Volume 1 or should I buy the full three book set of No Dig, Composting and Grow Together? Hmmm

Having a hard copy of at least one of his books could prove to be a useful offline reference in the future if those under sea cables ever get snipped like the newspapers keep saying. :D
