Microwaving food is not that good for you. I know it is convenient but did you know that if you microwave a jacket potato, the starch turns to sugar and you are basically eating the equivalent of a Mars bar but without the chocolate rush.
If you buy a sandwich that is made at the place you bought it, they do not have to put ingredients on it. Stupid loophole but it is still there. I prefer to know what I am putting in my butty but I am guilty of buying the odd egg/mayo from ASDA.

I don't have one at home but as staffrooms don't have ovens/hobs etc then I have to use the microwave to heat food up. Everynow and again its nice to have something hot and makes a nice change from sandwiches/rolls. (But I would not eat the school meals........ )
TBH i think any food you dont cook yourself is a waste of money, all these take away foods including sarnies are a right rip off-look at fish and chips, at least £4.50 per person i could buy a lot of food for £9 for the 2 of us-our normal weekly shop only comes to about £40 thats restocking what we've used during the week. i am particular about what i eat and i like to know what is in my food, if i eat out then i have no control over the ingredients or where they are bought, i like to buy British produce where possible, we buy fruit and veg in season, and meat from a local producer (i dont like supermarket meat).
It's not just microwaves that destroy nutrients, it's cooking in general. That's why we should eat as much raw food as possible + as much food that hasn't been processed + eat food in season.... oh if only. I know very well all that but still sometimes don't have time to make my own lunch and buy from Greggs
