If something has a best before date, but no use by date, be guided by common sense. The fact that there is no use by date doesn't mean it will last forever! After the best before date, it will deteriorate in quality. How far that deterioration progresses towards poison; well, that's anyone's guess, and if you are hungry enough, you will probably risk it. Smell, taste and eat test a little first, wait 8 hours, and if there is no ill effect, it
may be safe to eat the rest.
