Hi Fuds. Don't forget loo roll, sanitary towels/tampons and condoms!

Other than that, you are doing just fine. It does get overwhelming when you sit down and start thinking about everything that could go wrong but all you can do is carry on making sensible plans.

One other thing you might like to think about is a basic bugout bag. I don't mean the kind of bag which contains everything you need for wilderness survival. I mean a basic bag with a change or two of undies, toiletries, sanitary towels, important documents (like birth certificates, passports, bank statement, rent or mortgage statements, insurance docs including any pet insurance, prescription stubs etc), medication, maybe some colouring books and crayons for the kids. a couple of emergency blankets. Just in case you are evacuated in an emergency. I'm thinking of the floods here, or as has recently happened in Shaw (Oldham) the gas explosion which destroyed four houses and another 100 houses nearby had to be evacuated. It would be so much easier if, when the police or firebrigade knocked on the door, you could just grab that bag and go.

I need to practise what I preach and get my own bugout bag ready!!

being all electric our main immediate worry was if we had power cut/power failure, so went out and bought mobile gas heater and 2 cylinders(for heating) for cooking we've got camping stove, rocket stove and a handmade hobo stove, i'm also thinking of getting on of those camping gaz cylinders you screw the fitting into the top, we';ve got lanterns, torches and candles coming out of our ears  so i think thats sorted.

Hi Fuds ;) - I divided stuff into sections like - heat - cooking - light - food . Went down the list doing one thing at a time then ticking it off.
