UB,
Just glad you found out early on and not when all plans and preps had been shared.

i do agree my friend that when you give something away its no longer yours be it rubbish or for example two items amongst the stuff were two unused ajunilak sleeping bags and a berghaus salient rucksack. what i meant was he just took the iss really i could have sold them ten times over myself.. it was like id just gave him a pile of cash and he laughed in my face whilst i did it!!! am not letting it change me as such but am a darn sight more careful nownickdutch wrote:1) You have to ask yourself if you are moderately more prepared than you were before you started on the unfinished project. If you are then you have little to worry about. Most of my projects are unfinished projects, but from each of them I have learned something and I have more equipment just in case of anything that might be unexpected.
2) I don't give much away because I haven't got much in the first place, but if I do, I do it because I want to get rid of that thing in question, not because person x y or z promises to us it in that way in particular. After all, there is no prenuptial agreement between two people when you get rid of some junk.
Once its their property they can throw it off a bridge, burn it, sell it, do something deviant and inappropriate with it or choke on the bloody thing and they may as well because its not mine anymore.
but baxk to the original reason for this thread ive been making inventory lists of what i eventually need to replace. what i need to double up on and then im going to get the lot organised ship shape if you like and then do another dummy run on loading it and away. see if i can get all together in a calm and controlled way i feel a bit more organised about it now so that may help. but i must admit that without doing this post id most likely be loading bug out bags and repacking stuff for months so thank you all guys your help is invaluable... uf

Soon as I pass my driving test (i took my first one..umm 17 years ago) I'll be testing my bug-out preps. Hopefully by that point (aiming early in near year) I'll have grabbed 10 acres of woodlands near Brecon beacons as my BO location. Should all my plans work out, finances allowing, I'll be seeing about setting up bushcraft courses and camp-outs at weekends, my nextdoor neighbour runs bushcraft so I'll see if he'll run a course for a small group. Of course this might well end up as a perfect example of a 'plan going pearshaped', but its a plan at least
I'm in Area 7 !

I agree, it's all "work in progress" for me as the more I read and get feeback from posts I see how I can develop preps that I had thought of as 'sorted'. It's rubbish that you had to come in to contact with someone who has zero personal responsibility which for me is a major factor when selecting friends and ditching mistakes (and I've made a fewMaddie_cat wrote:Believe it is called "Work in Progress" rather than a UFO ("Unfinished Object") - at least that is what I keep telling myself!!!
