Re: Lighting
Same as others really, have a number.of torches scattered around and a couple of cpung lanterns for longer periods. Scored a Tilley lamp off freecycle this week which will really help in this department, once I've got new seals and mantles lol. Spealing of which, any one know whether you can use either type of mantle (clip or corded) or are they lamp specific?

Re: Lighting
I won't be bothered with anything that needs a battery as its jsut a waste of time and moneyI think. So we have candles and paraffin lamps and a windup torch. But this house is easy to walk around in the dark, big rooms/no clutter.
Re: Lighting
I have to say that the LEDs are doing great. It has not been a bad test. Glad really, as the Sparky cannot do the job for ten more days. He is a busy chap.

Re: Lighting
Today the upstairs re-wire took place. To use the language of my youngest Daughter , OMG!
Mess beyond belief and the downstairs lighting circuit basically condemned. The Sparky said it was original wiring. Bear in mind the house is 110 years old. To use my language FECKKIN HELL!!!!
the next phase HAS to be in the next month.
I am just glad we keep an emergency stash to cope with this kind of thing. How much I dread to think, bit it will be better than the house burning down. And I am serious when I say that.
My eldest girl said 'bet you wish you rented Dad?' And in some respects she is right. A double edged sword me thinks.
