Putting eggs in a solution of water glass is the best way to preserve eggs. To preserve eggs you mix it 10 parts water to one part water glass (sodium silicate or mixture of potassium and sodium silicate) Store the eggs by immersing them in a container ( I use plastic) containing the mixture and they should be covered by 2inches of the mixture. The eggs should be fresh (<3days old), preferably infertile and preferably unwashed. Pure sodium silicate has shot up in price in over the last few years. The commercial water glass, potassium and sodium silicate works just as well. Water glass is useful to have around because it can be used to plug holes in your cars radiator.
It may never happen. Best to be prepared just in case.
