you can make bread in a tin box near to a open fire
infact with a steel dustbin like the old ones before the plastic and rubber outside ones with a fire pit under it you can cook for an army lol bread the lot cover with soil or perlite mix

We made this today, its a bit like malt loaf, but without the fruit and a bit heavier, very nice and no yeast or kneeding needed, well worth a go.

I love making my own bread.

I tend to buy Allinsons Strong Bread Flour from ASDA - I think its 1KG for £1, good for a couple of decent loafs.
I think bread will be a sensible staple when things go pear shaped.

I vary the olive oil I use - Tend to use a flavoured oil to make it different - Garlic, Chilli etc

Also use Sesame Oil to give it a Tiger Bread smell and taste.

I can't get bread to turn out well, I make oatcakes instead. And you can make them on the fire.

I have made good pancakes with my gluten free plain flour, oatmeal and water. That's real oatmeal mind, not porridge oats, but I will experiment with porridge oats in the mix at some point.

Pancakes can be a savory or a sweet, or just something to replace the rice and potatoes that you eat day I and day out.
