Anything by Magnum. They arent too costly if you surf around. I wear boots between 10 & 12 hours 6 days a week. A pair last me roughly a year. Ive only damaged one pair - a 6 inch nail went in the side and now they arent so water proof! I appreciate mine are for work reasons but I walk the dog at the weekend in them too as they are just so comfy and warm!

Depends on what your after - military or civi styles.

I went down to go outdoors on the weekend and they had some decent merrell and scarpa footwear of which I tried on but prefer the Lowa combat boots Mrs CG bought for me however I have taken a liking to these Lowa Baiikal boots: -

i have a pair of army boots and yes they took a while to break in , all though they are comfy to wear , not as comfy as my work boots , these are made by jolly even with a steel toe cap there not to heavy .

I've got 2 pairs of boots that I use at the moment. The first pair are Harley-Davidson Steel toe boots, not the tassle type. The other pair are Scruffs Steel toe. I have just bought a pair of CAT's so I'm hoping they'll be alright

Cheers. I have CAT work boots which are very comfy and I can wear all day but you cant get them any more. I want a military high leg type boot with a thick sole.

Ive had a look at the magnums which look good but wonder how long they would last with material panelling. Ive tried actual US air force issue desert boots when I knew a guy on base but he never came good with getting me a pair.. . Dont know what brand they were though.

Well if you go for the full water proofs they seem to take a lot of abuse. Half of my year is ankle deep in muddy ditches/holes and they lasted the test. I was sceptical at the time of purchase (im a tight git) but they are great! My first pair I got at half price as they had been returned by a customer. they still had tags on! Get on eBay. My only problem with them is the height they come up leg, great for being water proof but not easy to whip on an off if you forget your sandwiches (I do this most days) before going to work.

My army surplus boots have stood up to everything that can be thrown at em here, except snow - and I anticipate testing them in that tomorrow! They've done well in the peat bogs, and on the beach this week when I was taking photos and didn't notice that big wave racing up the sand!

I have a pair of boots from decathlon and they are my trainers, there fabric so not fully waterproof but they are gortex. they are tough had mine for 3 years, (i was younger so my feet kept growing) and they have been through hell and back they started to die year before last, came of my MTB and took a rock to the side side where your arch would be and just took the upper top layer of fabric of, but still fully water proof and structurally sound.

Easy answer to that, clean room overshoes will keep all the mud of your boots of your floors sorry i know of topic.

As I said before, mine cried like babies til they toughened up. I put in some nice thick insoles and wear an extra pair of thick socks, which seems to have done the trick. I had some impressive blisters before I broke em in though!
