paraffin heater

I have paraffin heaters and stoves. Proved invaluable when boiler failed last winter and also various times during loss of electrical power.
Very effective and useful in many ways, even if spares and fuel somewhat expensive.
Carbon Monoxide detectors a must, check batteries regularly and also replace whole unit every x number of years.
Also, I do not sleep whilst the Paraffin Heaters are on, just to be on the safe side.
