Hi - just as well about the jargon, because I'd be bound to get it wrong
. Read about the Nu-Wick candles on here, somewhere, I think or perhaps on one of the American prepper sites. They are candles in a tin with 3 wicks. They burn for a heck of a long time and you can cook with them. Sadly, they don't seem to available here. The good point about the tin is you can put the lid on and keep the wicks dry. Didn't do too well on my first shopping trip. Met friend/parent of childrens' friend, was distracted from the task and then had to rush to pick up my daughter. Came home with a pitiful amount. My report card would say, "Must do better"
. At least I've started, I suppose.

Googled and found Nu-wick.
They make a big thing about there being no lead in them........WTF ? Why would you put lead in a candle anyway?
I'm sure I could fake one, I've got to do some candle stuff soon anyway for a thread I started on here.
