If the definitely unstylish Kwik bag, which also looses points for unhandiness, doesn't appeal, i'd recommend th 5.11 MOAB 10 as an alternative to the maxpedition. It. comes in plain black, and i've been carrying as an EDC bag for almost a year now, without any snide remarks from friends, coworkers or OH. So even with the MOLLE it seems inconspicuous enough. I especially like that i rotate it from the back to the front for easy acces.

Man-bags and grab-bags are a godsend. 5.11, Blackhawk etc make fairly non-descript tactical products that'll allow you to blend in that bit more.

If you want to really look harmless get a normal walking rucksack and stitch a Canadian Flag Patch, NZ Flag Patch and a CND Patch to it. Hey presto! Wolf in sheeps clothing!
