Overpopulation with climate change
Re: Overpopulation with climate change
you seem to think that's ok?
Adapt or Die, there is no middle ground.
Re: Overpopulation with climate change
Not Ok, and won't prevent catastrophe a lot sooner, but not now replicating like a virus as much of the current growth is due to people living longer.
When SHTF I expect a lot of us will die. I'm just hoping the proportion of this forum will be lower than average.
I feel sorry for people crammed into unsustainable cities. Most simply haven't a clue. Some I know well.

SHTF around 2017.
Re: Overpopulation with climate change
there are many people on forums who don't have a clue, most think its just a big giggle or a hobby at best. you are right about the cities, once the deliveries stop arriving everyone will panic but they wont have a clue what to do, what they should have done, they should have done ages before, when the event happens its too late.preppers will have a better chance than most, provided they can hang on to what they have.cpslashm wrote:

Re: Overpopulation with climate change
what I am more afraid of is that European civilisation may fall. What I am on about? on average one European couple have less than 1.5 child. there are nations who come to Europe and have much more than that. I AM NOT RACIST NOR EDL MEMBER but Muslims will take over Europe within 50 years as they have more children. and there are two scenarios: good and bad. Good is that they will just adapt to European style of living and we will live in peace and harmony which I hope will happen. Worse scenario is once their religious fanatics will take over and get to power they may be not as tolerant as we are. There are already some sort of militia in London beating people for being drunk or buying alcohol, there are already groups demanding sharia law - are we safe once they outnumber us? I've been working with Muslims and must say they were nice people, after coming to Europe they did enjoy our lifestyle, we were going out together, drinking, really nice and helpful people and wish them all the best, and hope the first scenario is more likely to happen then the second one, but there is still this shade of fear that religious fanatics will take over Europe.
I hope to live in world of peace and tolerance, wish same for my son and his kids.

Re: Overpopulation with climate change
I am lucky in that I live in Northern Ireland which has a relatively small population which is widely dispersed. I also live within walking distance of large woodland, mountains and at the seaside, so I have plenty of places to hide as well as living away from the main road and outside the town centre. I have the benefit of being able to bug out into the mountains/ woods and would be able to live fairly discreetly. Public disorder is something that does occur over here quite regularly, and with there being well organised criminal organisations over here, I fear that movement would be very limited if the SHTF, so I would aim to bug in unless the situation deteriorated to the extent that I felt my family were at serious risk. Like previously mentioned, large population centres would and already can be a breeding ground for disease and infection. It's a frightening concept- I'll be in the attic!
Re: Overpopulation with climate change
the religious/terrorist threat is one that worries me too, 9/11 and then 7/7 was what started me on the prepping road. thankfully I no longer live in a city and am hundreds of miles away from any major urban centre, and am not on any refugee route-that's one of the first things I mapped out-I live in a rural area and there are plenty of places for me to disappear to and never be found again, you would not believe how many empty properties there are in the UK!

are these empty buildings really that far from people?lonewolf wrote:the religious/terrorist threat is one that worries me too, 9/11 and then 7/7 was what started me on the prepping road. thankfully I no longer live in a city and am hundreds of miles away from any major urban centre, and am not on any refugee route-that's one of the first things I mapped out-I live in a rural area and there are plenty of places for me to disappear to and never be found again, you would not believe how many empty properties there are in the UK!
as about religious threat - it amazes me that government ignores it. it's so easy to ignore it once you live in posh area. and so easy to talk about danger of Eastern Europe coming to the country once the real danger is ignored.
Re: Overpopulation with climate change
sure, a lot are in built up areas, many many are not, I know of several which are in the middle of nowhere.J23 wrote:

Sounds like you have a few BOL to choose from then. I live near loads of caravan sites, so could always move into one of those. Would be a good place to forage for food if the SHTF aswell.
Re: Overpopulation with climate change
If you live close to caravan site why moving to them? if it's close you can stay at your house. besides, what if owner of caravan will go there? will you fight for it? will you ask politely? as about me I am thinking how to secure house for social collapse - heavy doors, strong windows etc. but as there are more important things I leave securing house for later. besides cooperation with neighbours and bugging in may be more important than bugging out.Moxy wrote: Sounds like you have a few BOL to choose from then.
