Firstly, I don't think that its ever going to happen, secondly if it was to happen, it would have to be in a situation when the S had already hit the F in a major way and we were already on the verge of riots and the like. Thirdly, there is already a bit of a crackdown starting on wasted food which if taken to its logical conclusion will mean that there will be more food in circulation, possibly lowered food prices and the like. Fourthly, the likelihood of you having enough food stored up to last you for years is very thin, and even if you did have 12 months of food in store, you wouldn't see that as excessive anyway as it is the way that you are going to stay alive for that 12 month period.

One could in a rather :tinfoil paranoid way assume that the Nation is preparing itself legally through statute or similar instruments for a situation in which there may be diminished food supplies and we are in a SHTF situation, but again, considering the wealthy and powerful need to keep the patient alive in order to carry on sucking its blood, the likelihood of us ever entering in that situation in the UK is remarkably slim.

As with all things, think about what you are preparing for and not what dubious media sources are telling you to prepare for.

Unemployment, times of illness and issues with power and / or water security are hard enough to prepare for, let alone TEOTWAWKI.

what if somebody is following all of you already, spying on you via satellite, via mobile phones, via computers, via your irons and microwaves, what if someone is checking over your fridge and clean pants and socks drawer, checking over size of your willy while you're sleeping, just to know they can rob you off your preps once shtf?
I recommend to stop any social activity, to switch off fuses, throw away all laptops and mobile phones, shut the doors of your house, (make it look old and abandoned) behind you and never leave your house again.

to be serious and honest if bad things will happen you will suffer anyway, possibly more mentally than physically - for example will you watch your neighbours' kid die of hunger once you have plenty of food? your kid and this kid have been best friends for last 6 years, now that kid will die - will you watch it? will you be able to face mirror after it?
time to lose paranoid mask and enjoy your life, you can't prepare for all, and you shouldn't prepare for things that are less likely to happen, prepare for those most likely to happen. prep with head, enjoy your life

I am afraid most of the bit when somebody is checking size of my willy while I am sleeping ;-)
I wonder if there is a way to prepp for that - some steel pants maybe? with padlock - I swallow the key in the evening and puke it out in the morning?

I've seen this discussion on another site (a US based one), everyone was worried that 'They' were going to seize food off preppers..... Until one guy pointed out that if the crap is really flying so badly that 'They' need to impound food stores, the situation will be so bad that 'They' wouldn't have the logistical support to do it.

Warehouses, yes
Supermarkets, probably
Foodbanks, possibly
Raiding private homes (even ones that you can almost be certain of a haul, like Mormons ), too much effort.

Robbin' Ba'stard and his merry men nicking your stuff could be a problem though, so stash it well. But don't worry about being on a 'list' somewhere, that way lies madness :tinfoil

Spot on, it won't happen, just not enough manpower to raid individual homes.

that's the point. it would involve a lot of admin people and logistics as well, nobody will be doing it for free
