Depending on the gas inlet most new vans have a double check bulkhead regulator fitted which the bottle tail just needs swapping....

Older vans need a new regulator and jublie clip 28mbar butane 31mbar iirc for propane

If rubber gas pipes are over 5years old replace them LPG perishes them from the inside out

Watch your number of sockets most sites only give 8 to 10 amps

Many caravan socket suppliers now offer retrofit USB outlets in Lou of fag lighter sockets too

E.g.http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/141244917232. Which matches the pattern in ours (this is supplied without bezzle)

Sorry for the inactivity guys.

As far as swapping between Propane and Butane goes, its completely fine as long as you switch regulators.

I've also been getting to know the neighbours, and it seems that quite a few are hunters themselves, many of whom have Firearms certificates and even keep Air Rifles in their caravans. There are also so far that I know of, Hobbyist Fisherman, Surgeon, Nurse, Engineer and a Plummer who all have permanent pitches on site, I'm pretty sure one of them is a Prepper too, he's got a stock of gas canisters, a load of hunting equipment and food stockpiled away in his caravan.

It seems my idea of buying a caravan has done just what I wanted it to do! Prepping is coming along nicely :)

Is this a touring caravan or a static caravan, curious.

Sounds gorgeous, love Northumberland, if I could live up there it would be in Wylem. My OH is a Geordie so we go up whenever we can. I am green with envy!!

That would be butane propane won't freeze.

Great idea, trying not to get jealous :) When I was a kid, a couple of centuries ago we went to a caravan which had a coal stove, burnt phurnicite(egg shaped coal). It was a little bigger, 20feet. Is it still possible to put a stove like a little wood burner in a caravan?

in a word: yes!! when I lived in Glastonbury I knew a lot of "alternative" types who had wood burners in their caravans.
