I suppose with some of the ones that have really wide tops, like bold or comfort, if cleaned and dried, some stuff could also be kept INSIDE the bottle untill it was needed

You're right, they are a good idea though, I've been trying to convince Her Maj to get a shewee but she's reluctant.

I hadn't thought of putting other stuff inside untill you said that, now I'm thinking as well as storing stuff a couple of the ones with built in handles would make a very basic floation device, bit of string between them, like the old fashioned water wings. Ohhh this has get me thinking. :)

Nice! What do you use for a bed/mattress?
Had a cheap jay bed with a thin mattress single duvet on top of that then the sleeping bag and the dog.
This weekend will be trying a friends horse box nice thick mattress though I have to climb up to it some how as the ladder has been lost lol and getting the dog up there is going to be a problem she may be small but god is she heavy.

Today I canned carrots, lots of carrots, so many peeled and chopped that my fingers turned orange  thank goodness for soothing hand cream

I also froze a big bag full and will dehydrate some to top up the jars I have used.

I also found a tiny 7g potvif Vaseline in my local shop, added to the car box with cotton wool pads.

Hey guys, newbie here.

Im starting from scratch this week, so during a long drive in the works van I carried out a kind of mental audit of my life and I identified the billy basic areas I need to get sorted in terms of what can go wrong and how I can reduce the risk/live on afterwards. This is day 1 week 1 stuff, probably boring to most of you, trust me, id rather be drinking nettle tea, burying bicycles and analysing maps but baby steps must come first.

Concern
Loss of income stream

The effects would be huge on my family, I am currently the sole bread winner and we could loose the home, the mortgage is already very high and we dont have much left over each month.

The Threats
1. Injury to myself
2. Getting the sack/being made redundant.
3. Other known unkowns

Execution
Pretty simple, pay heed to the Health and saftey Police, be switched on at work, take no needless risks and be preapred for the unkowns.

I could get injured by any random out on the street, I need to get back to my physical best and I could do with some sort of deffence training.

When/if the unkowns come I need to have a decent amount of savings and alternative living means to tide me over, this could be stored food etc, i need to research this.

I need to clear about 4K of debt which itself also needs a plan i.e. cut backs, budgeting, selling stuff, bulk buying, storing, growing food, anything to save money and that will all need research, and then I need to save save save - Ideally 6 months wages though 12 months would be better with at least one months wages in cash at home should there ever be a situation of ATM and/or chip card systems going down....So to store cash I need a fixed safe for the house.

Actions
1. Research clearing debt quick, overhaul finances and make a budget, following this its then save save save.
2. Start looking on freecylce, ebay for a quality secure fixed safe for the house, I could hide cash but a safe will be good for other valuables too and hiding is not 100% secure.
3. Get a fitness regime written up.
4. Get myself (and the wife) booked up for some self deffense/martial art class.

Lets see where im at next week.

Horse boxes are pretty cool aren't they? I remember seeing one online that had been converted to a plush bathroom complete with wood-fired hot water system.

This weekend's prepping will be cutting out a window and getting this afloat. Then getting it to sink and hopefully afloat again.
